How does it work?
Our Troncmaster service takes the hassle away. After all, your business already has enough to deal with!

1. Set up the scheme
If you are new to tronc schemes, we will work with you and your workforce to set up a fair and compliant scheme. Through surveys, we can even help you engage with staff, which can be an important part of demonstrating fairness in your tipping policy.
We will build the allocation rules based on your business’s structure and workflow. We don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to allocation rules.
For some operators, a simple percentage split based on hours works well, but building more nuanced rules may be more appropriate for more complex businesses. We can even create points-based rules.
These rules will include decisions regarding things such as the rules around starters and leavers and how to ensure compliance with the new Tips Allocation legislation.

2. Create your Tronc Constitution
Once the rules have been defined, we will create and circulate a Tronc Constitution to all employees who opt into the Tronc scheme. This ensures all employees understand and are informed of the rules and how the Tronc tips will be distributed.
Clear communication of your tips policy is part of the new Tips Legislation, ensuring you comply with this requirement.

3. Be your Troncmaster
We will act as the scheme Troncmaster, calculating each employee’s share of tips according to the tronc scheme rules.
You will send us employee details, hours worked, and tip amount per site. We will apply the rules and calculate the monies owed.
If you are handling payroll yourself or through an outsourced provider, we will send a report detailing the payments to be made.
Alternatively, we can handle the whole process through our payroll business, Ascend Payroll.
